GET TO KNOW SORA!

It all started with a merger of two nonprofit organizations: Mt. Shasta Nordic Ski Organization and Mountain Runners. Siskiyou Outdoor Recreation Alliance (SORA) formed with the aim of gathering the larger community of outdoor recreation nonprofit organizations and initiatives throughout far Northern California into a single alliance. The alliance will serve to amplify the voice of outdoor recreation interests within the region, and support partnerships, policy, and planning related to outdoor recreation and community vitality. Another important aspect of SORA is that with the consolidation of financial and administrative resources, the burden on smaller nonprofits is reduced, resulting in a more sustainable organization. SORA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

SORA'S MISSION:

SORA advocates for opportunities for all to access outdoor recreation and creates meaningful and responsible connections to the trails, mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, and landscapes of the Shasta-Siskiyou region of Northern California.

SORA'S IMPACT:

• Amplify the dialogue around sustainable outdoor recreation within the region and tell our story at the state and national level

• Create a sustainable entity to maintain vulnerable community outdoor recreation assets

• Leverage expanded outdoor recreation community to improve our collective ability to grown outdoor recreation opportunity and infrastructure

• Combine financial resources to create organizational capacity in support of regional outdoor recreation

• Create cross-cultivation opportunities between partnership organizations, businesses, events, and programs

• Strategic outdoor recreation planning to build community resiliency to grow community vitality and adapt to climate change

• Serve as a hub to convene all outdoor recreation stakeholders

• The “Great Grinduro Giveaway!" drawing is open to contestants worldwide. All prizes will be shipped. 
• The “Great Grinduro Giveaway!" drawing is being conducted by the Siskiyou Outdoor Recreation Alliance (SORA), a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation under the laws of the State of California.
• There is no limit to the number of tickets one (1) person may purchase.
• SORA Employees, Board members and their spouses are not eligible to participate in this drawing.
• Drawing tickets are $5.00 each. Drawing tickets can be purchased by credit card only. 
• By IRS declaration, ticket purchases for valuable prizes are not eligible for charitable tax deductions.
• Odds of winning will depend on the number of tickets sold.

• Drawing will be held at the SORA office in Mt. Shasta, CA on September 12, 2020. The winners will be determined by random selection.
• Winners will be notified by via phone and email within 1 day of the drawing.
• The prize winners are solely responsible for all local, state and federal taxes, title, transfer fees, license duties, insurance and all expenses incurred in claiming the prize pack. The Prize winners understand, acknowledge, and agree that the winners are receiving a prize and will hereby release and discharge SORA, and any additional sponsors, their employees, agents, officers, directors and legal representatives and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses or expenses arising from or caused by the award of such prize, including, but not limited to the payment of any and all taxes that are due.
• Prizes must be claimed within 7 days (by September 19, 2020). Any unclaimed prize after that date will constitute forfeiture and be transferred to SORA as a donation.
• SORA, its Board of Directors, and its agents assume no liability for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, or entries without payment which will be deemed invalid and disqualified.
• The decisions and rules of SORA are final on all matters concerning the drawing.
• Void where prohibited by law.
• No purchase necessary to enter the sweepstakes. To enter without purchase, mail a handwritten postcard to Administrator at: SORA, P.O. Box 765, Mt. Shasta, CA 95067.  Containing your (i) full name (if a minor, your parent/legal guardian’s name as well); (2) mailing address, including street address, city, state/district, and zip code (P.O. boxes not accepted); (3) telephone number; (4) email address; (5) date of birth; and (6) a statement that, “I have read, understand, and agree to be bound by the Official Rules for the Grinduro Fundraiser Sweepstakes”.  All write-in entries must be postmarked by September 5, 2020 and received by September 10, 2020. There is a limit of one (1) write-in entry per person.
